The guys had a great day out at Preston North End Football Club

4th of February, 2021

The guys had a great day out at Preston North End Football Club. They posed for a photograph in front of the iconic Sir Tom Finney Fountain ~ The Splash. Simon gave a very entertaining tour. For once he wasn't dressed as PNE's mascot ~ Deepdale Duck!

Inspired by the visit, the guys had a go at football "Charlotte House" style! They were certainly "Bending it like Beckham!"

Great exercise and lots of fun. Keep up the good work guys. We'll have you playing for Preston North End yet.

Charlotte House would really like a smart T.V. They have begun raising funds with a colourful tombola! Each prize was lovingly and very carefully hand wrapped. I wonder who will win what? Watch this space for news on how much was raised.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service dropped in with some very welcome provisions. We will put them to good use, especially in this very hot weather. It was very kind of them to think of us.

Charlotte House is such a great place to spend time. It really is like a home from home. We have a wonderful Grandfather Clock which stands tall and keeps us all ticking over. The room is well decorated and extremely well colour coordinated. We love the blues and greys. It makes for a very calming and warm feeling.

We always enjoy being creative, especially when we are making something that we can eat. We had great fun mixing icing, carefully covering digestive biscuits and then decorating them with smarties and hundreds and thousands. When they were set and ready to eat, we enjoyed every mouthful. We've also made bread this week! Everyone in the office upstairs was so hungry due to the delicious smell wafting their way! The buns we made were just yummy. They went down a treat. We always enjoy meal times, starting with a lovely breakfast. It's ready for us when we arrive!

It's always great when someone gives you great feedback. It lets you know that you're doing a good job. We appreciate all our care staff. This is what Mala had to say, ""It was the staff at Delta Care that helped me with my Mums care when she came to live with us in her twilight years they were amazing! I had regular wonderful people who helped us so much, I will always remember them."

Delta Care has been at the heart of the community for over 25 years. Preston is a great place to live, socialise and work. We have stunning views of St John's Minster and the Harris Museum and Library. Preston is twinned with Nimes in France. Many of the buildings are very similar.

I have really enjoyed my first couple of weeks at Delta Care, especially meeting all the wonderful people at Charlotte House. They really make my day and make me smile/ I wanted to share with everyone the photos that I've taken. The people from Charlotte House are the superstars and should be celebrated.

Charlotte House is such a welcoming place. It's like staying at a very posh hotel! Wonderful breakfast laid on. Everything set out, ready for those hungry guys. Once full, everyone is ready to take on the day. In the morning when everything is quiet, you know that the transport is on its rounds, picking everyone up.

It's always great to celebrate and make memories. Birthdays are the ideal time to get together. Any celebration is even better when there's cake.

This month we have celebrated Vicky's Birthday. We all sang to her. Vicky made a wish, blew out her candles and then shared her birthday cake with us! We felt very luck and it was delicious. Thank you Vicky.

In September and October, the guys from Charlotte House will be going to the ever popular "We'll Meet Again" at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham. Mervyn Francis will be singing smooth 40s songs. Ukulele virtuoso Anthony Mason will be bringing memories of George Formby. The Bluebirds UK will bring back the popular Andrews Sisters along with individual tributes to Gracie Fields, Anne Shelton and Dame Vera Lynn.

The show's cast will be in Forces uniform which will perfectly evoke the era. Andrea is hoping to go along too. She says, "Save a seat for me too, please"
