Residential Care Home Cook – Part-time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our friendly team at Victoria House, one of Delta Care’s established residential care homes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate cook to provide nutritious, well-balanced meals and play a key role in maintaining a high standard of catering services for our residents.

Location: Victoria House Care Home, 25 Victoria Avenue, Brierfield, Nelson, BB9 5HR
Hourly Rate: £12.21 Hourly
Hours: Part-Time – 16.5 hours per week
Schedule: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM, including alternate weekends
Job Status: Permanent, Part-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals in line with dietary requirements and food hygiene standards
• Support and lead catering operations within the home
• Maintain professional catering skills and undertake relevant training
• Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Help develop and implement catering policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with food safety and care home regulations
• Work within budgetary constraints and ensure cost-effective service delivery
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and ongoing service evaluation
• Maintain accurate kitchen and food-related documentation as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

• Professional catering qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (required)
• Previous experience working in a residential care home is essential
