Health information Week

Health information Week

4th of February, 2021

Health Information Week Health Information Week takes place from the 2nd to 8th July 2018. At Delta Care we thought it was a good time to therefore remind our staff, clients and families about what information is available to help them all stay informed and healthy. There can be so much misleading information available on health, so this initiative helps to promote the best and most trusted information that is available. What is Health Information Week? Health Information Week (HIW) is a campaign to promote the good quality health resources that are already available to the public.

HIW aims to encourage partnerships working across sectors to raise awareness of the health resources that are available to them.

Many organisations are involved in Health Information Week including Public Libraries, Health Libraries and local voluntary organisations, alongside NHS institutions. They all have the common goal to promote knowing where to go to get the right information on health. This is the same goal that we share at Delta Care. Where to Start When Looking For Good Health Information NHS Choices offers a useful guide for what is available on the NHS choices website so this is a great place to start when looking for information on health. It will guide you through a range of topics and will give trusted advice on what to do next.

What Topics Can I get More Health Information On?

The week has various topics that it will cover including:
Monday 2nd July - Healthy lifestyles
Tuesday 3rd July - Mental health
Wednesday 4th July - Health and digital literacy
Thursday 5th July- Long term conditions
Friday 6th July - Mindfulness and relaxation
Saturday 7th July - Patient stories
Sunday 8th July - Promoting partnerships in health information

These topics are also linked with key Government priority areas for National health improvement such as: Reduce the number of people who smoke Reduce obesity / increase exercise Support sensible drinking Improve sexual health Improve mental health and wellbeing Tackle health inequalities At Delta Care we are trusted to care for people with a whole range of health issues so we fully support the Health Information Week initiative. We frequently help to signpost people in the right direction for advice on health so it is important we remain up to date with the latest advice. Customer Feedback
Review from Homecare.co.uk - Delta Care Chorley

I wish to thank all the carers at Delta Care Chorley for the care and dignity provided for my husband over the past two and a half years. They always came at the time specified and were professional and caring at all times. They were more like friends in the end. In particular, I would like to mention my husband's main two carers but also the rest of the team and the new members who we only knew a short time. I could never have managed without them. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for top-quality care at home. Thank you all. A special thank you to one carer for her excellent on-call care over the past few weeks.
